FBB TV: Youth Voices

FBB Youth Voices is an innovative programme which aims to provide talented and ambitious young people from our FBB Schools programme with digital media, film making and public speaking skills.

This is a ground-breaking and imaginative programme which puts FBB participants at the forefront of all of the charity’s communications and social action work. It will provide young people with the practical skills, the ongoing support and the public platform necessary for them to make their voices heard and achieve their educational goals.

The group are working on producing 5 monthly shows at the Copa90 studios, as well as all digital and social media content and marketing to support the shows. The studio show, Beyond Ballers, launches tomorrow Thursday 24th November, and you can watch it and other FBB Youth Voice productions on FBB TV – Subscribe HERE!

Nick Connell, Head of FBB Productions and Youth Voices Project Lead said “We set up FBB TV to tell our story, tell our participants’ stories, and promote our work, while also giving a voice to the young people we work with. We’ve done this to an extent up until now, but to really embrace youth culture into our digital channels we need to do more training and development with our young people. So I’m very proud to announce the launch of FBB Youth Voices, our digital training programme. We’ve pulled together a team of 12 FBB participants aged 13-17, whom we will provide with the support, skills, and public platform to make their voices heard, allowing us to dramatically increase the level of youth participation in everything we produce.”

Michael Timbs Social Media Content Creator at Copa90 said, “It was honestly a real pleasure to talk to the FBB kids in the Youth Voices programme. Not only was it great to interact with such enthusiastic students, but also really useful for me personally to get to know better the people who watch and consume the content Copa90 produce. They talked about football, and social media’s role in football, so passionately, and it’s great to see the FBB Youth Voices programme give them a platform to share and express their thoughts and ideas.

FBB Youth Voices participant Hashim 14, said “It’s basically teaching us how media works, and how it is behind the camera as well as in front if the camera, and all of the jobs it takes. So the editing and the actual presenting. It’s been special and I’ve learnt a lot. I think in the coming months we’ll learn a lot more and make more shows like this.”
