WHAT ARE WE DOING?
Free of charge football training sessions to get more women playing football.
The sessions are women-only (16+) and open to all abilities
We participate in weekly tournaments and play as frequently as we can.
The sessions are run by young female coaches seeking to make their way in professional coaching.
WHAT IS THE IMPACT?
Since December 2013 around 20 young women have begun playing football regularly for the first time thanks to FBB’s Women’s football project – with over 50 young women participating in sessions since the beginning of the project. They have been amazed at how quickly they’ve been able to improve and have also built new friendships, learnt new skills and discovered the benefits of regular exercise.
WHAT DO PARTICIPANTS THINK?
“Being part of FBB has given me the chance to play a sport that I always wanted to play but never had the confidence or the right space to get involved in. I have gained new mates, a new skill and a fun way to exercise, whilst increasing my awareness of broader ideas and issues”
